One of the best parts of being a dog parent today is the incredible access to information at our fingertips. From health questions to training tips or even discovering the latest must-have toy, technology makes it all just a tap away. With smartphones and online communities, it’s easier than ever to stay informed, connected, and give our pups the best care possible.

Another amazing perk of technology is that passionate pet lovers are constantly creating apps designed to meet the needs of fellow pet parents—making life easier, more organized, and a whole lot more fun for us and our furry companions.
Come take a stroll through my phone as I show you what’s inside my Marlee-specific app folder—everything I use to keep her happy, healthy, and thriving!
MetLife Pet
This is Marlee’s pet insurance app, and it’s been a total game-changer. What I love most is how simple it makes the claims process—when I need to submit a vet visit or medication expense, I can just snap a photo of the receipt right in the app and upload it in one easy step. I can also track exactly where each claim is in the process, which keeps everything super organized.
But my favorite feature? The 24/7 vet chat. MetLife includes this as a bonus with their insurance plan, and it’s been such a helpful tool. If I ever have a question about Marlee’s health, I can connect with a licensed vet anytime, day or night. They’ll share what they think might be going on and offer recommendations on next steps. Of course it is always best to see a vet if your pet has an issue but if you need quick peace of mind or want to make sure you are doing the right steps until you can see a vet this is perfect.
Petsmart

Truthfully, I don’t use this app all the time, but since I get most of Marlee’s essentials from PetSmart, it’s super convenient to have it on my phone. I use it to browse deals, track my points, and check for any special offers. If you shop at a different pet store regularly, chances are they have an app too—it’s definitely worth downloading to keep tabs on rewards and exclusive discounts!
PetDesk
This is an app that my vet uses and I believe many practices are starting to pick it up as well. This is an awesome app that allows you to book appointments, refill medication, contact your provider, and more all with the simple click of a button. It makes it so much easier to see available times and to be able to do book in out-of office hours so you don’t have to worry about checking your schedule all while on the phone. They also offer cute add ons like creating to do lists and reminders for yourself. Such a great app that I recommend to all vet office or pet parents to download if their office uses it.
Sniffspot
Sniffspot is like the Airbnb of private dog parks—and it’s an absolute gem, especially for reactive dogs. It offers a safe, controlled space where your pup can explore, play, and just be a dog without the stress of unexpected triggers. Even if your dog isn’t reactive, dog parks can be unreliable so it’s a great alternative, giving them the chance to roam off-leash in a fresh environment. I love having the app on my phone to easily browse locations, book visits, and communicate with hosts on the go.
Chewy

Basically Amazon for pets—but with a more tailored experience. While many people use it for auto-shipping their pet’s food and essentials, I personally love browsing it for unique enrichment items and toys for Marlee—things I often can’t find in pet stores or even on Amazon. It’s a super handy resource for discovering new goodies to keep her happy and stimulated.
Outside of my Marlee folder, there are a few other go-to apps I use for her—starting with the obvious one: the camera app (duh!) I also love using Facebook groups and Pinterest to find inspiration, tips, and info on specific topics like enrichment, training, and health.
What about you? What apps do you use for your pup? Or is there something you wish a pet app offered? I’d love to hear—drop your favorites or dream features in the comments below!
